Call of Duty’s Reward Loop

One of the most important parts of my essay is where I take a deep dive into explaining the multiplayer’s reward loop. The entire multiplayer mode ditches an emphasis on skill in favor of wanting players to progress through an RPG-like leveling system.

And the act of leveling up itself is designed to feel amazing.

Welcome!

If you’re reading this, you just so happened to have stumbled upon my back corner of the internet! My name is Gabriel Maciejaszek and I’m a student at Rochester Institute of Technology. I’m currently studying Game Design & Development, although that may be subject to change. Being that it’s my first semester of college, I’m currently being pulled in many different directions when it comes to figuring out what I want to do for the rest of my life. For now, though, making games is the end goal.

I’ve set up this website for the purpose of archiving an essay I wrote for one of my first classes: Intro to Interactive Media. The essay is quite long, but now that it’s being incorporated into website form, I can add a bunch of pictures to break up the monotony! Hurray for web design! I hope that it proves to be an entertaining read for you, although I will admit it does begin to drag on at points and lose focus. I am my own biggest critic, if you couldn’t tell already.

Be sure to check out other parts of the site if you’d like. This was made primarily for showcasing my essay, but if you’d like to do some further reading, you’re more than welcome to explore and learn a little more about me.

I won’t waste any more time on introductions, as I’ve gone on long enough. Enjoy your stay at my website, and more importantly, have a nice day!
